RAY CHARLES 

Ray Charles was born on September 23, 1930 and his birth name is Raymond Charles Robinson, but his friends called him Brother Ray. Ray Charles is an African American composer, singer, songwriter, and musician. Ray Charles was poor and had glaucoma, when he was 4 or 5 years-old he started losing his vision, when Ray was 7 years-old he was completely blind.Ray Charles wasn't the only child he had a younger brother named George. When Ray was 5 , his brother George drowned at the age of 4 in their mothers laundry tub. Three song that Ray made were " Georgia On My Mind", " Unchain My Heart" and " Hit The Road, Jack ". Ray Charles is one of the greatest musicians, he also was a soul music pioneer, gospel,pop, integrating R&B, and country.Ray Charles had a bluesy voice that made American music reshape its self. Ray brought soul to jazz,rock, country and every style of music he touched. Ray Charles died June 10, 2004 in Beverly Hills, California. The reason I chose Ray Charles is because he is proof that any body can do anything if they put their mind to it.
